Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the

Private Security Industry (Refresher) (RQF)

It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Security Officer and need to be brought up to date with the new licence linked qualification requirements.

Course Content

The course consist of ONE unit. The contents are outlined below:

• know how to conduct effective search procedures

• understand how to keep vulnerable people safe

• understand terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat

 

Assessment

The qualification is assessed via 1 x multiple-choice examination.

Entry Requirements

• learners must be aged 18 and over.

• learners must hold a First Aid at Work qualification that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, minimum Emergency First Aid at Work (Security), AND has a least 12 months left until expiry.

• learners must have completed the ACT Awareness and ACT Security (https://www.protectuk.police.uk/catalogue) a copy you of your certificate should be brought with you.

• Learners will be required to complete a Learner Workbook prior to the course commencing (this will be sent to you in advance of the course).

• learners must have sufficient reading, writing, speaking and listening language skills before being put forward for training and assessment.

• correct personal identification documentation – this will be outlined to you ahead of the course.
